Research Interests:
Primary research interests are in regional economics and development and related issues in labor markets, human capital, geographic and ccupational mobility, and demographic change. Secondary interests are in resource management. Publications fall mostly into one of the following three categories:
Regional economics (regional, rural, and local development)
Labor issues (human capital. labor mobility, demographic change)
Resource management (amenities, planning, and energy)
* Recipient of the 2004/2005 RRI/College Special Research Assignment (SRA) proposal with Tesfa Gebremedhin entitled: "An Economic Analysis of Small Businesses' Contribution to Poverty Alleviation and Development in Rural Regions"
* President of the Southern Regional Science Association, 2008-2009
