WVU hires State's first demographer


From 1992-2008, WVU's Regional Research Institute was West Virginia's official representative in the Federal-State Cooperative Programs for Population Estimation and Projection. They were widely used for planning purposes by businesses, government agencies, health service providers and interested citizens throughout West Virginia.

In 2009, WVU hired the State's first demographer, Dr. Christiadi. He is the new liaison with the U.S. Census Bureau and will now oversee the production of West Virginia population projections. He can be contacted at 304-293-1801, Bureau of Business Research, College of Business and Economics.
